3. Silent Hill
Everyone's favorite, fear-inducing town makes an appearance on our list for obvious reasons - the game forces the character to doubt their own sanity at every twist and turn. In the first game, Henry experiences shifts between the real world and the Otherworld at various points throughout the game, and after each Otherworld section, he wakes up in the real world, making him confused as to what just happened. Is he dreaming all this or is it actually happening? The same thing happens again in Silent Hill 3 with his daughter Heather, through various points in the game her world shifts to a hideous nightmare, leaving her very scared and isolated, leading us to think, is Silent Hill actually real?
