The Metal Gear series has always been known for its creative and awesome boss battles and Snake Eater was no exception. One standout being with the mysterious character called The Sorrow. The Sorrow was a powerful spirit medium and- like every other boss in the game- an ex member of the COBRA unit who used his powers to help his fellow soldiers on the battlefield. Throughout the course of the game we find out that The Boss and The Sorrow were romantically linked and The Sorrow fathered her child, Ocelot. The Boss though, is forced to kill him when allegiances changes throughout the course of the Cold War. The Sorrow pops up throughout the game as a ghost and Naked Snake meets him properly after suffering a near death experience, following his escape from Groznyj Grad. This involved Naked Snake wading through a never-ending river full of enemies that rather creepily you have killed throughout the course of the game.
