A year ago, the cast of Baldur's Gate 3 played a one-shot campaign of Dungeons and Dragons as a way of promoting the game and further immersing everyone in the tabletop experience.

Each voice actor played their own character from Baldur's Gate 3, and what came out of it was a chaotic, messy, and incredibly fun experience that's a recommend watch for every D&D fan.

However, there was also another thing that the campaign spawned—Bing Bong.

Bing Bong is an imp store clerk whom Shadowheart meets and adopts during the D&D session, and Lae'zel, spoiler alert, kills by dipping him in fire and using him as an improvised projectile.

Despite his brief appearance, the character caught the hearts of the cast and viewers.

It also captured the hearts of the developers apparently as they decided to immortalize him in Baldur's Gate 3.

That's right! Thanks to a patch that arrived shortly after the D&D game, Shadowheart now mentions Bing Bong in-game, meaning that not only is the little imp canonical now, but also, by extension, all of the events of the promotional campaign.

Just remember this next time you talk with any of your companions.
