10 Weirdest Video Game Ports You Won't Believe
8. Bioshock IOS
Mobile games are an odd bunch, aren't they? On one hand they've come a long way, on the other hand, they've been spinning their wheels for years. For every Raid Shadow Legends, there are a million Elder Scrolls: Blades. What this genre of gaming needs is some real tangible support from the rest of the gaming industry.
This probably ain't it, though.
Now, in all fairness, this isn't all that bad a port. In fact, it's better than it has any right to be. While there's no beating the console version, it looks enough like the original to maintain the atmosphere, which is 70% of the game's appeal to begin with.
The problem is that this game is not made to be played on IOS. While they did a decent enough job porting it to IOS, the control scheme is watered down as a result, moving around and dealing with the camera is a pain, especially when multiple enemies bum rush you, and trying to solve those pipe puzzles on a touch pad should be classified as a form of torture.
Again, not a terrible attempt, and if more companies followed in its footsteps, we could have hammered out the kinks by now. But of all the games to port over to IOS, 2K probably could have chosen a bit more wisely.
