10 Worst Controller Designs Ever

8. The Playstation Mouse (1994)

The Offender: Sony The Console: PlayStation Worst Component: There was nothing particularly wrong with the mouse itself, it was just useless in 99% of games. Redeeming Feature: If you received it as part of a badly thought out Christmas present, at least you can finally own a playable version of your PS1 copy of Sim City. Most people are probably entirely unaware that the Playstation even had a mouse, let alone the fact that it was available from day one of the console's launch. The mouse wasn't particular awful for the time or anything, it was just almost entirely useless. Sure, it was great for controlling RTS titles on the console, but then you'd have been far better off getting things like Command & Conquer and Sim City for the PC, and have access to the full, non-watered down versions of the games. You couldn't even use the mouse for the PC, because the lead could only plug into a Playstation controller port. The Playstation was a console that grew popular due to its shooters, racers, and RPGs, ensuring that the PS Mouse fell quickly into obscurity.
