10 Worst Ever FIFA Games - Ranked
3. FIFA International Soccer (Game Gear)
FIFA endured a troubled start to handheld life and its fortunes on Sega Game Gear were proof that colour visuals wouldn't have absolved the early Game Boy editions.
This FIFA International Soccer port did its best to mimic the isometric viewpoint of the 16-bit Mega Drive version, but the developers missed a few sitters along the way.
For starters, the camera was stuck in close-up mode, giving us a clear view of the player in possession but little else on the field of play. Half the time you were forced to blindly hoist the ball beyond the confines of the screen and hope for the best.
With only two action buttons, controls were limited and that meant no sprint command, slowing the action to a crawl.
Obviously concessions were unavoidable due to the hardware restraints, but did EA really have to jettison the on-screen timer? The only way to tell whether you were in Fergie Time was to track each half on your watch like a glorified fourth official.
