8. Mortal Kombat 3 (1995) - Scorpion

Mortal Kombat 3 featured a fatality by Smoke, whereby he releases dozen of small bombs and then the entire world blows up. Nothing on any list will ever compare to that - especially not this attempt which ended up as a total cop-out.

With this fatality, lots of Scorpions appear on screen surrounding the opponent, and just when you're getting excited, the screen cuts to black and we hear a scream. That's the best they could do?

Scorpion is one of the most enduring Mortal Kombat characters of all time, commanding the elements of Hellfire and the demons of the Netherrealm itself, but no, there's no reveal of his flaming skull, no chaos and destruction, just a load of buildup without a payoff. Lame.
