10 Worst Fatalities In Mortal Kombat History

7. Mortal Kombat 4 (1997) - Raiden

Yes, this game looks terrible, as while it's commendable for MK4 to make the jump from 2D to 3D, going from the digital sprites of real people to lumpy CG models fwlt like a huge step down, despite the extra effort it must have taken. Still, at least Quan Chi beats someone to death with their own leg, so that's something.

It was tempting to crown Johnny Cage the loser here. Much like a faded movie star going back to the franchise that made him famous, Cage just can't seem to let go of his decapitating uppercut fatality. He's used in every game so far, and with the new 3D perspective and whooshing camera angles, the fatalities are more complicated than ever - yet Cage is still knocking peoples' blocks off. But even with that repetition starting to wear on the player, the real loser has to be Raiden and his electric stick.

Sitting out MK3, Raiden returns here to show you how to make thousands of volts of electricity unimpressive. He jabs someone with his staff, lifts them in the air and sparks fly for a bit... with nothing else happening. It all ends with a flat 'slam' to the floor. Oh dear.
