10 Worst Pokémon Video Games Ever
Catching them all is the least of your worries with this lot to contend with...
The global brand that is Pokémon has had so many hits it’s very easy to forget their numerous misses. Catching them all was supposed to be our real test, yet the Pokémon Company still asked us to do God knows what else in the meantime - often with predictably dismal results.
So, with Pokémon Sun and Moon arriving any time now, it seems as good a time as ever to take a look at the 10 Worst Pokémon Games of All Time. There are some divisive entries on the list but stick with it; there’s at least one good reason for every title to be here.
Read on to find out which Pokémon games were nothing but Pokéballs.
Honourable Mentions
Not quite terrible enough to make the list but still awful, awful games:
Pokémon Conquest:
Turn based strategy that looks more like a Yu-Gi-Oh title with Pokémon added in at the last second – it even uses the term ‘Warlords’ to make it super geeky and super tragic.
Pokémon Shuffle
Symbol matching Freemium stuff best reserved for lavatorial use only – another marketing exercise full of nasty microtransactions.
Pokémon GO
Pokémon is not about actually walking anywhere; it never has been and it never will be. It has also never been about releasing Pokémon to evolve them. I released 34 Gastly’s to evolve my Haunter into Gengar and now everyone has one thanks to Halloween – pack it in Niantic, I know where you live.
