10 Worst Pokémon Video Games Ever
10. Pokémon Trading Card Game – Game Boy Color
Ah, schooldays were great weren’t they? Running around without a care in the world except for trying to bully the nerdy kid into trading his Charizard card for your pile of utter crap as though quantity was better than quality – if that’s your memory then you’re the reason Pokémon cards were banned at my school; thanks asshat. To remedy the problem, I demanded the Pokémon Trading Card game for my Pikachu Yellow GameBoy Color (oh yeah!) and was horrendously disappointed by the entire game.
I expected a grand quest to collect cards and trade with my friends before battling them relentlessly to become the champion – instead, it turned out to be a complete waste of a great opportunity. The game was overly complicated with no clear indication of any story at all - there's no threat to your character whatsoever; you don't even lose cards if you're defeated!
I expect the game was aimed at the youngest of the Pokémon fans in order to entice them to the trading card game itself but it completely misses the point of being a Pokémon game in the first place. It was so bad, none of my friends actually bought it and I ended up with no-one to trade with yet again...
