10 Worst Politicians In Video Games

6. George Sears (Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty)

Don’t you hate it when the 43rd President of the United States turns out to be a total psychopath? Once upon a time, this test tube baby – and son of Metal Gear’s Big Boss – was committed to freeing the world from the stranglehold of deadly organisation The Patriots. Hell, he even set up an anti-terrorist unit, beautifully titled Dead Cell. But power tends to go to the head.

Once The Patriots removed him as head of state and whacked his name on a kill list, the once well-balanced Sears goes rogue, teaming up with Russian mercenaries and creating his very own terrorist group (it’s what every ex-President dreams. Probably). And like all brutal terrorist groups, it masked intent with talk of freedom, calling itself Sons of Liberty. Under the name Solidus Snake, Sears began orchestrating the attack on the Big Shell, kidnapping Patriot-payroll President James Johnson in the process, as part of a wider plan to turn Manhattan into a free republic through the peaceful and democratic use of…nuclear weapons. Only, turns out The Patriots were manipulating everything behind the scenes. The cads!

And it all went as well as you’d expect. By which we mean, by the end of the game, Sears was left brain-dead. But then again, some of our finest politicians have been too.
