10 Worst Video Game Choices You Regretted The Entire Playthrough
8. Killing Wrex - Mass Effect
The Mass Effect series features a save importation system that allows you to transfer your progress between games. This usually means unlocking new and exciting content in the sequels based on your earlier choices, but if you make the wrong decisions, it can actually be the opposite, as is the case with Mass Effect’s grumpiest krogan, Wrex.
Wrex the mercenary is the mighty but impulsive rogan—a species of aliens that are so ferocious that their rivals, the salarians, had to develop a genophage to prevent most of them from reproducing and possibly conquering them.
Obviously, Wrex is quite unhappy with this, which is why when you discover a cure for the genophage in Mass Effect 1, he will do everything to get it, even if it means disobeying Shepard.
Now, if you don't like his attitude, you can choose to kill Wrex when he rebels, and while it might make sense given how dangerous krogan are, in reality, the choice will have a really negative impact on the rest of the series.
With Wrex gone, you don’t get to experience a lot of the krogan-related side quests in the sequels, and there is generally a big Wrex-shaped hole in cutscenes where he is supposed to appear.
He might be grumpy, but he really adds a lot to the series.
