7. Gran Turismo

As brilliant as the Gran Turismo games might be, the majority of the entries into the series come with one major caveat, that you need to complete various driving license tests in order to unlock more difficult races and progress through the career mode.

These tests range from hilariously easy to infuriatingly difficult, with time limits becoming increasingly tight the further along you go, sd more demanding manoeuvers are asked of the player.

While some petrolheads may take joy in nailing a perfectly-executed circuit of a track, for more casual players the license tests are as dry and unappealing as sandpaper, while gating off the part of the game they're actually interested in - bloody racing.

An awful double-whammy of time-consuming and repetitive, Gran Turismo's license tests may technically teach you something, but you'll probably end up wishing they hadn't.
