10 Worst Video Games Of The Last Decade
1. Ride To Hell: Retribution
Behold: the King of bad games! Bow before its unholy badness! Ride to Hell: Retribution's reputation doesn't come just because its a terrible, buggy, boring and misogynistic game that would make Duke turn around and say "that's a bit much lads."
It earns it's way to the top of this list and so many more because, when launched, it launched at full AAA price.
Would you believe this was yet another game stuck in developmental hell? Initially, game developers Eutechnyx, who didn't really have a spotless gaming resume to begin with, wanted to make Retribution an open world game. Eventually, years later it was released as a broken and terrible linear story and an ugly-looking world.
A cliched mess, the Retribution campaign offers a garbage story that, at the best of times is nonsensical and, at the worst of times is straight up offensive. Retribution's portrayal of women can't be taken as tongue-in-cheek; it is simply degrading, insisting women are simply whorish trophies for the world's worst protagonist.
The controls either often don't work or restrict the player to near-unplayable levels. The opening cut scene alone, which jumps between multiple cliches of gaming, such as quicktime events and turret sections, should be enough to tell you that this is, by far, the worst game of the last decade.
