7. EA Sports UFC
Riding on the back of THQ's insanely high benchmark-setting UFC Undisputed franchise, EA needed only to make sure every hit slammed home with the appropriate force, and each character model best represented their in-octagon counterpart. They managed to get the latter right for the most part, as everything from Roy Nelson's beard to Ronda Rousey's intense look was spot on, but within such an exquisite display of graphical prowess is the possibility for anything to look out place. And boy, did they show up in abundance. Fantastic graphics don't mean anything when a fighter's legs are inverted, or a ground takedown ends with one fighter floating above the other. Throw in the fact that this had none of the heavily customisable aspects that made the older THQ games so great - like say, creating a female fighter - and this felt like 'My First UFC', despite EA's multi-year long association with their own MMA franchise.
