What do you want from the Halo franchise? High-octane sci-fi shooting replete with scores of identifiable aliens, each one bringing with it a different strategy to take down when you get to the higher difficulties? Well, it seems even though everyone was screaming the above requests at the top of their lungs, what came out instead was a port of the original top-down mobile version of isometric blaster Spartan Assault - the only change being some slightly spruced-up graphics and not much else. Gameplay still resembled the touch-screen version from before, and with the jury still out on if Halo even 'works' in a top-down view - Halo Wars had a hard enough time convincing anyone of it's RTS qualities - Assault's place in history as the first Halo title on Xbox One is a total joke.
