The game that The Rock famously threatened to shove up Santa's "candy ass" in the run-up to Christmas 1999. WrestleMania 2000, THQ's first WWF/E wrestling game, was an immersive wrestling experience with fighting champions, feuds, and signature taunts.

For the time, the roster was pretty stacked with even the women's division featuring 7 stars, including Stephanie McMahon as an unlockable character (we aren't counting The Godfather's Ho). There were three wrestlers who were cut from the roster between development and release: Gillberg, Tiger Ali Singh, and Goldust.

These cuts were down to the men behind the gimmicks leaving the company during the game's development. The latter is the only real loss for most fans.

Between 1998 and 1999, Goldust, for better or for worse, was one of the wildest and most flamboyant characters on the roster and even had a brief run with the Intercontinental Championship in early '99. Dustin Runnels' departure for WCW was motivated by creative dissatisfaction. Things only worsened from here, when his new WCW character of Seven quickly abandoned.

In a positive consequence, the vacant slot was occupied by a freshly debuted Chris Jericho.
