Commentary has been a recurring problem in WWE games forever. That's why, when Michael Cole "got word" that Brock Lesnar had re-signed with the company in WWE '12, the lead announcer sounded like Todd Grisham announcing Christian's arrival on ECW.

It was bland, but Brock's involvement in the game was anything but.

He felt like a big get for the revamped series at the time. THQ were going the annual sports franchise route with their WWE goods by that point, and Lesnar had legit become one of the biggest sports stars in the world over in UFC. Seeing him back in a wrestling game was huge in late-2011.

WWE '12 was released on 22 November '11. Brock then returned on the 2 April 2012 episode of Raw to attack John Cena. In-game, he first shows up as a surprise run-in on one of your matches in the divisive Universe Mode.

That's when Cole informs players that Lesnar has signed a new deal with WWE.
