1. Halo
Many of Microsoft's detractors have said that the Xbox One is only going to be good for Halo and not much else. Clearly, as evidenced in this article, that isn't the case. However, it never hurts to have a 800- pound gorilla in your corner. Halo is and almost always has been the Xbox's crown jewel. It is a mondo-franchise, only bettered by one or two series in the entire industry. PlayStation has a few franchises of its own but I would argue that it has never gotten the flagship series on Halo's size, at the very least, commercially speaking. Halo is quite possibly the biggest exclusive franchise going at the moment between both Sony and Microsoft, and that is a big mark in the Xbox's favour. Also, on top of that, I am very excited about seeing what 343i have in store next for Master Chief. Halo 4 was a true high mark for the series, telling the most emotionally enthralling, if intentionally incomplete, story to date. The franchise is in good hands, hands that care deeply about the multiplatform narrative they are telling. We aren't sure exactly what shape the next game will take but I am watching intently. That, and Master Chief is going to be fighting/driving/allying/destroying/activating/deactivating a big metal bird mecha. So that is new.
