10 Zelda Items That Are Immediately Made Pointless After You Get Them

Much like the boomerang in every game, you will receive a slingshot at the beginning of pretty much every single Legend of Zelda game. However, not only does the boomerang make this item less useful, the bow you receive later will also make it completely useless.

The slingshot is used in the early portions of the game to show the youth that most Link characters have at the start of their adventures, seeing as a slingshot is easily obtainable in a small town. Once you start your journey however, you will quickly realise that there are plenty of far better items that will do the exact same thing the slingshot will.

Damaging enemies? The bow and the boomerang will deal much more damage than a deku seed will.

Hitting switches? The bow will arc downwards much less, and the boomerang has infinite uses. The slingshot not only requires ammo, but has a relatively short firing distance.

Aside from of Ocarina of Time, where you can only use the bow in adult form and the slingshot in child form, the slingshot becomes an item that has wasted your time for countless hours at the start of the game.

The inclusion of the slingshot is simply for plot, and it serves virtually no other purpose past the first temple in any game.
