10 Zelda Items That Are Immediately Made Pointless After You Get Them
2. Boomerang - Almost Every Game
Any game that you play in the Legend of Zelda franchise will have you obtain some form of a boomerang. While in some games it serves a purpose that is unique, like the Gale Boomerang in Twilight Princess, it mostly a useless item halfway through the game.
You receive the boomerang before you receive the bow in 90% of the games, using it to attack enemies from a distance or to hit switches that are far away. Once you receive the bow, it will deal more damage to the enemies you are hitting, as well as make aiming much easier.
Hitting far away switches with the bow is also much easier due to the fact that arrows fire straight forward, while the boomerang flies around in an arc.
While a cute idea to include an item like this in the game to add some different aspects to combat, it is more or less pointless the second you get another ranged weapon.
The boomerang will quickly become one of those items that sits in your inventory gathering dust as you complete the rest of the game by expertly dispatching of enemies with your precise bow and arrows.
