8. Dead Island
If there is one thing that makes rowdy Englishmen or Germans nicking your sunbeds while on holiday seem trivial- it's the appearance of a zombie outbreak. The island resort of Banoi is one place that Trip Advisor won't be reviewing favorably due to this very reason. You play as one of four characters that all have their own personal reasons for being stuck on the island and conveniently- all four of them are immune to the zombie virus. The island itself is beautiful to look at, well, in between all the body parts- of which there are plenty. You're tasked with helping various survivors who managed to take shelter from the horde outside. This help can come in the form of hunting down lost loved ones or by repairing generators around the place to keep the electric going. The zombies in this game were fast too, often rushing at you with surprising speed- though this was nothing a quick boot to the face wouldn't solve. You could also pick up all manner of weapons to help deal with them, such as boat oars, crowbars, diving knives and claw hammers.
