11 Awesome Actors Who Gave Awful Video Game Performances
9. Mickey Rourke - Rogue Warrior
The very same year he received a Best Actor Oscar nomination for his stunning performance in The Wrestler, Mickey Rourke lent his voice to this universally-reviled first-person shooter, where he played real-life U.S. Navy Seal Richard Marcinko.
Rourke's involvement with the game largely consisted of him sitting in an air-conditioned sound booth and reeling off a list of expletive-laced one-liners presumably cobbled together by a 12-year-old, including the likes of, "God-damn c***-breath commie motherf***ers!" There's absolutely nothing to it, and Rourke sounds like he just wants to get through the long list as fast as he possibly can.
Granted, the excessive profanity is pretty much the only entertaining part of the game, but sadly, Rogue Warrior isn't actually intended to be a satire of dudebro shooters and instead takes itself dead-seriously.
The best is saved for last, though, with the end credits featuring Rourke "rapping" his outtakes over a funky fresh beat. It's almost worth playing through the horrendous (and mercifully brief) game just to experience it, but thanks to YouTube, you totally don't have to. Enjoy below...
