11 Best Fighting Games Of The Decade (So Far)
7. Street Fighter V
Capcom's questionable business model will forever remain a stain on Street Fighter V's legacy. A crying shame, considering the quantity of content, minute as it was, available on the disc at launch was of spectacular quality.
Visually and technically, the most recent iteration of Capcom's flagship franchise is leaps and bounds above its predecessor, but no amount of masterfully animated Spinning Bird Kicks or flame-infused, bare-footed Tornado Kicks can substitute for a lack of depth in every other department.
Consistent seasonal updates introducing new characters, stages and, of course, Capcom's favorite: new costumes, have arrived since launch, as has a dedicated cinematic campaign and expanded online features, but the damage has already been done.
Prior to its launch, Capcom stated it would never release seminal expansions for Street Fighter V (Super, Ultra, Ultimate etc. monikers) as it has done in the past, but that's exactly what it needs. If only to remind the masses that progress has been made.
