11 Hugely-Anticipated Video Games You Won't Believe Got Cancelled

5. Daredevil: The Man Without Fear

One of the slickest and just downright-coolest superheroes there'll ever be, Daredevil was set to make his major video game debut following in the footsteps in the spectacular Spider-Man game PS1. However even though as you can see below (but forgive the awful quality) developer Encore had almost everything in place it was never to be, falling apart at the last second alongside the movie adaptation which to this day has garnered a very small cult following.

Let's be honest, it's totally baffling why this didn't come out. Even the above trailer still looks incredibly enticing and that's a full decade after the initial release window, give it a lick of polish and a new graphics engine and fans of superheroes in general would lap this up in 2014. Taking a couple of pages out of Spidey's PS1 book the combat looked to be fairly similar, and with swinging mechanics that mimic the Wall-Crawler's sense of in-game motion almost identically, we'd have loved to dive into a similar experience with Daredevil in the titular role.

It looked to be fairly ahead of its time too, combining the aforementioned swinging and combat mechanics with what appeared to be a Tony Hawks-style grinding system - something that even if it wasn't score-based, looks awesome in the video with Murdock backflipping around an open world city - something that Spidey's second movie tie-in would once again nail better than anyone else not soon after.
