11 Hugely-Anticipated Video Games You Won't Believe Got Cancelled

4. Prey 2

Prey is a strange beast amongst gamers, as those who played and loved it have subsequently had it tattooed onto the inside of their subconscious, with only the slightest prodding prompting mass hysteria and defensive action against any who attempt to say it was anything less than a monumental achievement...

Then there's the rest of us who could take or leave the alien-abducting, Native American-tinged FPS altogether. However for all of you that fit into the first bracket, this entry is for you.

Part of the weird 'does it or doesn't it exist?' feeling surrounding the game is down to there not being any official word on its development that's managed to stay true without another source appearing to shut it down in the following few weeks. The latest word is that instead of previous developers Human Head Studios once again handling programming duties, steampunk-stealth 'em up Dishonoured's guys Arkane Studios were to pick up the pieces and reassemble from what's left.

Even that didn't last though as publishing studio Bethesda spokesperson Pete Hines then refuted the claims that Arkane were involved at all... only for a batch of leaked emails to then state the opposite; that the game was actually in development all along, it was just that Bethesda didn't want to let the cat out of the bag until the right time.

We just don't know what to believe any more, but fingers crossed it's actually coming in some form at some point.
