1. Watch Dogs
The game that took everyone by surprise at last year's E3 has become the most anticipated title of 2013. The newest offering from Ubisoft, who have become major players this console cycle, sees them create a brand new series in a brand new universe. Set in the city of Chicago, Watch Dogs pits you as Aiden Pearce, a vigilante hacker who faces off against CtOS, a supercomputer that virtually runs Chicago. There's much more to it than that, but we obviously don't know all the details. The game allows players to use Pearce's smartphone to hack into just about anything electronic, from doors to trains, security cameras to ATM's and cell phones to traffic lights, to name but a few. This gives players unprecedented control over the world and unique ways in which to combat enemies. It's innovative gameplay that has never been seen before, which is a major reason why the game is so exciting. Similarly to Ubisoft's Assassins Creed series, Watch Dogs allows gamers to run and climb, using parkour to scale rooftops etc. The movement of Aiden, shooting mechanics and unique hacking system makes Watch Dogs look really fun to play, as well as extremely cool looking. Watch Dogs has been hotly anticipated for a long time now, and it won't be long until we see whether or not that hype has been justified. If not, it would be one of the biggest disappointments ever. However, I trust Ubisoft enough to say I really don't think that will be the case.
