A major complaint regarding the Call of Duty series is that the weapons often aren't distinct enough from one another. While many FPS games require players to learn the nuances of different weapon models, it's generally been easy in Call of Duty to just hold down the trigger and experience little to no recoil. While the recoil is still very undemanding this time round, Advanced Warfare makes up for it by offering a far wider range of distinct weapons. Energy weapons that shoot deadly laser beams are biggest addition, encouraging the more traditional 'shoot from the hit' style of gameplay over aiming down sights. While there are certainly weapons that further suit certain play styles, every gun still feels viable in Advanced Warfare, allowing players to make full use of their armouries.
