10. The Shibito (Siren)

Who doesnt love Japanese horror? From the influence of anime to alternative comics and films, there are many things that an Eastern touch can make unique, but so far Japanese horror has primarily been identified through the filmic westernisation-remakes of Ju-On (The Grudge) and Ringu (The Ring). However it wasnt until Playstation-only franchise Siren, and particularly the spruced-up PS3 version Blood Curse became readily available, that the decaying Shibito were unleashed on the world. As is common with undead hordes, they feature a plethora of character designs taken from everyday life, with anything from bloody-eye-dripping elderly women to shambling construction workers brandishing sculpting tools with which to cave your skull in. Marry all of the above to a game feature called Sightjacking; the ability to tune-in to any of the enemies minds and see what they were seeing. Jacking into someone only to find theyre actually standing right behind you was a common occurrence, leading to many a controller-fumble in trying to survive the following encounter.
