5. Donut County Is Gaming's First "Hole Simulator"

It seems like there's simulator games for everything nowadays: goats, pigeon dating, and even showering with your dad. Well, gaming's first "hole simulator" is set to join the fray in 2018, with Donut County, a game where the player controls a sentient bottomless pit, whose sole motivation is to eat objects in order to grow larger.

The game, created by Ben Esposito, naturally reminds many of Katamari Damacy, though also appears to have a tongue-in-cheek puzzle element, as certain objects will mutate the hole when dropped inside it. For instance, dropping a kiln inside the hole will set it on fire, allowing you to heat a hot air balloon and send it into the sky.

It certainly looks charming, hilarious and visually enticing. No release date beyond sometime next year, though.
