11 Unannounced 2014 Gaming Sequels That Will Sell Millions
3. Assassin's Creed 5
Yearly sequels have become ever more popular thanks to Call of Duty's astronomical sales figures and Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed series has joined the trend. Largely, it hasn't dampened the quality of the series (though Assassin's Creed III tried its best to) and last year's Black Flag was a very strong title, picking up many Game of the Year nominations. In particular, a lot of praise was given to the naval leanings of the game; set in the 18th century Caribbean, you play as a pirate, making sailing, naval combat, exploration and treasure plundering important aspects of the game. It revitalised the stale formula of the Assassin's Creed series into something truly exciting; Ubisoft are apparently thinking of basing an entire series around pirates as a result of this game. What about Assassin's Creed then? With Edward Kenway's story seemingly finished, it's likely that we'll see a new time period explored. A modern day Assassin's Creed seems like it would be a great idea but there are so many historical events and wars to explore, we might never see the Creed properly branch out into the modern day. Regardless, Black Flag has restored some much needed confidence in the series and we're thoroughly excited to see where Ubisoft will take us next.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
