There are more video games coming out than ever before. Seriously, just take a look at the calendar for the rest of 2019 and try to convince me that a mere human can keep on top of all of those major releases, not to mention the underrated indies that slip under the radar and re-emerge as must-play titles later on down the line.

Publishers and gamers love having a schedule, and announcing major releases years in advance is the norm, giving fans a reason to get hyped with each new trailer and, most importantly, drop a pre-order on projects that are still an age away from actually launching. Consequently, there are few surprises in this industry, and that's partly because even if a big title isn't officially unveiled years before it's set to launch, it'll probably get leaked anyway.

This is the case with the releases on this list; titles that haven't properly been confirmed by means of a fancy trailer or a swanky logo, but ones which, through a series of credible reports and discussions between studio execs and shareholders, we know for certain are in development, and coming sooner rather than later.
