For years, the prospect of TimeSplitters 4 eventually happening has constantly been revived, seemingly for the sole purpose of getting the hopes up of fans everywhere, and then crushing them a couple weeks later. Over a decade in the making, many people have rightly given up hope of ever seeing a proper sequel to the classic shooter franchise, but apparently a follow up is finally happening. Again.

In the same investor report where Saints Row V was confirmed, THQ Nordic also discussed the future of the TimeSplitters brand, and had some pretty interesting things to say. The publisher confirmed that one of the key original developers, Steve Ellis, has been employed to steer the franchise going forward after acquiring the IP last year.

It's still probably a long way off, but it's clear that THQ Nordic isn't just going to sit on the series, and fans might even get a remastered collection to fill the gap before a proper sequel is ready to release.
