11 Video Game Endings That Totally Trolled Gamers

1. The Non-Ending - Sniper: Ghost Warrior

The Ending: The final boss in Sniper: Ghost Warrior is General Vasquez, and the second after you blast him with a sniper round from 300 meters away, you're told by your comms team, "Mission accomplished, get outta there", and the screen fades to black. The next thing we see? Yep, "The End".

How It Trolled Players: So, we've murdered this guy and we don't get an awesome exfiltration set-piece to end the game? It's even set-up by the final dialogue! It's as though the developers ran out of money and just abruptly cut the game off there, having convinced themselves that this was acceptable and wouldn't be a) outrageous and b) also kinda hilarious. In addition, there's practically no tension or suspense in taking the guy down: we're comfortably far away, take the easy shot, and bam, we're done. Rubbish. Perhaps it wouldn't seem so absurd without the tacked-on and wildly unimaginative "The End". Still, at least this wasn't exactly a hugely anticipated game, so didn't spark some Mass Effect-level nerd rage.
