11 Ways Bioware Should Have Made Mass Effect Andromeda
1. Fix The Animations
I can free up some slack towards Bioware as the team of developers behind Andromeda were formerly the head multiplayer unit behind Mass Effect 3.
This was their first triple-A game, not to mention the amount of pressure they'll have been through attempting to craft the next instalment in Mass Effect after everything that happened. But... BUT, something must have gone drastically wrong, for a walking animation to turn into this...
At this stage you've probably already seen the compilation videos showcasing just how often a weird or questionable animation pops up, and whilst the facial renders are by far the worst, they only seem to apply to the human models, whilst the aliens are for the most part, pretty good - save the reuse of Salarian and Asari faces across their entire respective races.
From ape-like arm-dragging walking animations to contorted faces, blank stares during emotional moments or characters straight-up levitating out of frame mid-conversation, there's a marked lack of polish across the board that at least makes someone like Bethesda know it's not just them.
Still, the biggest thing that needed amending before release - and still does, at time of writing - are the conversation animations, from top to bottom.
