11 Ways Telltale's Batman Is The Best Since Arkham Asylum

8. Gotham Actually Matters

The Arkham series always talked about - and was increasingly set in - Gotham, but aside from the opening first-person segment where we see a bustling cafe teeming with life in Arkham Knight, there's always been some convoluted reason as to why the streets were completely deserted.

As such, apart from saving a handful of citizens or hostages, you never got the feeling that Batman was operating in a metropolis (not THAT Metropolis). Telltale amend this almost immediately, letting you discuss many key issues with reporter Vicky Vale, before at the climax of the episode, giving you full agency in doing something that gets broadcast on live television.

The game pops up and states, "Gotham will remember that" no matter what you choose, but in the ending wrap-up, things you've stated to Vale from way earlier in the episode come back around in a very important way. All these sorts of things go into showing why Bruce Wayne is just as important as Batman, and that's an element left out of Rocksteady/WB Montreal's titles.
