12 Actors Destined To Play Video Game Characters

12. Emilia Clarke - Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)

Given how successful last year's reboot of the Tomb Raider video game franchise was, it sure wasn't long before it was announced that the movie reboot would be following a similar direction, toning down Lara Croft's ridiculous physical proportions and presumably focusing on a grittier, more vulnerable, believable action hero rather than the acrobatic, fast-talking killing machine that Angelina Jolie's take on the character was (superbly cast though she was for that era of the character). Emilia Clarke is best known to audiences as Daenerys Targaryen in HBO's Game of Thrones, and she'll also soon be playing Sarah Connor in the new Terminator movie, Terminator: Genesis. Even if we forget her fair facial resemblance to the rebooted Lara Croft, she's a more petite actress than many would have chosen for Lara, but given how the new take on the character emphasises vulnerability and strength in the face of adversity, I think it'd be very easy to root for Clarke's interpretation.
