First Announced: The fourth entry into the cult adventure game franchise known as The Longest Journey (consisting of 1999's The Longest Journey, 2006's Dreamfall: The Longest Journey and 2014-16's episodic Dreamfall Chapters) was originally revealed as a Kickstarter "stretch goal" for Dreamfall Chapters (15 February 2013).

Though the $2 million goal was never reached (falling $500,000 short), franchise director Ragnar Tørnquist still expressed a desire to get the game made, though unfortunately for fans he changed his tune significantly by mid-2016, stating that "for many, many reasons [he doesn't] think it will happen."

While there still hasn't been an official cancellation, it's fair to say that most fans of the series have since given up hope on there ever being another new game, which really, really sucks.
