It ain't easy picking out the best multiplayer level in a game that revolutionised split-screen first-person shooters. Archives, Library and Temple were all contenders, but in the end Facility takes it for striking that perfect balance of tight, chaotic gunplay of the sort we don't really see any more. It may seem a bit on the claustrophobic side when looked at today, but that was pretty much the nature of multiplayer in Goldeneye - panicky skirmishes where you could run away, take a couple of turns and lose your pursuer, before finding a machine gun and returning to finish them off. Facility was an awesome mix of narrow corridors, large, chamber-like rooms and ventilation shafts. There were plenty of opportunities for sneaking up on players from behind as they run past you, or having shootouts amidst the tankers in that large control room. Not to mention the music, which gives any Bond Theme a run for its money in terms of catchiness.
