12 Best FPS Multiplayer Maps Of All Time

4. De_dust (Counter-Strike)

When Counter-Strike was first released,Valve obviously had big intentions for it, and yet even they surely couldn't have imagined that it would become the phenomenon it is today, with one map in particular becoming forever engrained in the popular imagination as its champion. De-dust is actually pretty simple; a medium-sized arena neatly sectioned-off into six perfectly designed locations, each of which makes a great self-contained mini-arena. Its middle-eastern town setting may be visually stark, but the map is so legendary now that adding any pizazz to it would be considered sacrilege. Maps come, maps go, and shooters continue to evolve, but de_dust never changes; an eternal playable reminder of how brilliant minimal map design can be.
