Back to far less divisive titles, Square Enix clearly took one look at Minecraft and added the one thing that counters the biggest reason more adults don't play it: Quests, a story and a sense of progression.
By moving away from the whole "It's a giant digital box of Lego!" appeal and more into the notion of building towns and cities or exploring for a reason, immediately Dragon Quest Builders has a sense of accomplishment and purpose that was totally lacking in Mojang's work.
Double that up with Akira Toriyama's consistently excellent art design (which you'll know from Dragon Ball Z, if not past Dragon Quest games, and you have something with a sense of charm completely unmatched.
It might not be a 'real Dragon Quest game', but Builders exceeds in drawing you in just as much as its turn-based RPG brethren.
