12 Best Superhero Video Games That Totally Nailed Their Characters
6. Iron Man - Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2
Of all the heroes that desperately need good video games, Iron Man is right at the top. His movies have always had tie-ins alongside, but the first two were terribly controlling affairs that made you feel about as empowered as flaccid appendage, whereas the third was resigned to just being a mobile app.
No, to truly get a decent version of Mr. Stark, you have to look to his appearances elsewhere - but not far, as Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 at least apes the titanic Civil War storyline, putting Cap and Iron Man front and centre as the opposing sides of the Superhero Registration Act. As such, you can choose to be Pro-Registration and buddy up to Stark for the duration, playing as him and unleashing the full force of his technology on the opposition.
Chest lasers, hand-blasts and taking flight to soar over the battlefield are all commonplace, as are Fusion Attacks if you want to bounce fire off a variety of other characters for some devastating area-of-effect moves. Iron Man may continue to get short thrift in games considering how big a star he is on the silver screen, but at least MUA 2 lets you live out your justice-doling billionaire fantasies regardless.
