12 Big-Budget Video Games That Launched Completely Broken
11. Sonic The Hedgehog (2006)
It's one thing to take a loveably cute character who got by being the appropriately-nicknamed 'Blue Blur' and give him a more humanoid form, alongside a princess love interest (who was also a human) - but even those who were willing to give this a shot were brought down by constant bugs throughout. 3D Sonic is something that makes people run for the hills at the best of times, but following a gargantuan PR-push from Microsoft, Sony and especially Sega - the latter of which reportedly demanded an earlier release-window than what Team Sonic were prepared for - meant the final product was a trainwreck from day one. From extended load times and broken in-game physics, the super-slick experience a Sonic title simply needs to succeed was nowhere to be found, and this ended up contributing far more to the 'Sonic doesn't work any more' debate, than anything else.
