12 Bizarre Japanese Video Games You Won’t Believe Exist

10. Seaman (Dreamcast)

Ah, the turn of the millennium, when virtual pets and tamagotchis were all the rage. But when kids would get a virtual pet it'd usually be a cutesy animal of some sort, or a pixellated blobby-looking thing, not... this. If I was a child and I booted up Seaman, I'd have been traumatised for years at the sight of a frog-fish hybrid with the face of a middle-aged man. Seaman floats around in a big black space, and can answer questions that you ask him via microphone. Aside from that, you can make creepy Seaman babies, make him have horribly Seamanny sex (interpret that how you will), and eventually evolve him into a Birdman, at which point he flies away to freedom... good riddance.
