12 Characters That Should Return In The Next Mortal Kombat Game
11. Kai
Kai also made his debut in Mortal Kombat 4, but as a member of the White Lotus society, a society the turkey-gobbling Shaolin Monk, Liu Kang has ties with. It's always felt Kai was never developed enough, (like most characters in this particular era) however his gameplay proved for some interesting concepts at the time. Kai would mount himself into a handstand and would propel a barrage of twisting kicks at his opponent, as well as perform some funky handwork in the process, a unique trait in kombat for the series back in the day. This kind of fighting style could be further explored with Kai in a future instalment and he could perhaps even incorporate some flashy Capoeira moves into his move-set. Not to mention Raiden gave Kai his trusty lightning staff in one of the endings for the game, whether it is taken as canon or not, a Capoeira-esque fighting style along with a staff enrobed in lightning could birth an exciting spectacle. His look could be improved upon however, we found the white tiger-like stripes down his arms intriguing and this aesthetic was transferred to Armageddon, his second playable skirmish in the series. With a little love Kai could perhaps become an even bigger patsy for the forces of light than Liu Kang; he definitely has the potential to surpass the former champion of Mortal Kombat in the badass stakes if tribute is paid to his fresh slate of development.
