12 Embarrassing Things All Gamers Do But Would Never Admit

12. The Gaming Tilt

I know for a fact I'm not the only one guilty of this one. Most commonly found in racing games, you're sat playing the latest racing sim on your bed/chair/other seating implement when - for no explicable reason - you start to lean from side to side as you turn around the corners. As a child, I used to do this all the time. As an adult, I have to force myself to stop sometimes. It was first flagged up to me many moons ago by a friend as we played Crash Team Racing around my house. Like some vast idiot I was leaning into the turns like I was Crash Bandicoot actually in the cart and - even though my friend was a gamer - he still thought I was utterly bonkers. It doesn't stop with just mere tilting either - sometimes you may lift up your head to peek over a non-existent wall in a shooter, look in the direction your character is looking in or do other subtle movements that mean you're probably far too involved in the experience. You've got to remember that this was before motion controllers were even a thing, so I can't use that as an excuse. Of course we all just do this because gaming is damn immersive and you feel as if you're part of the action. Just take care you don't lean too much and fall completely off the side of the bed. I've never done that. Honestly. Why are you looking at me like that? Seriously...I didn't..... Ok, I did.
