12 GameCube Games That Prove It's The Most Underrated Console Ever
11. Animal Crossing
Animal Crossing was a revolution, and there's no shame in admitting you were caught up in the craze at one stage or another whether it be on a handheld console or not. It was originally released for the N64 in Japan, but it quickly washed up on western shores for the GameCube. It almost felt like living two separate, real lives, with the game utilising a real-time system. The time of day in the game matched that of real life, blurring the lines between reality and a cartoon village made up of talking animals. Certain fish could only be caught at certain times, events would take place on particular days of the week, and of course, the lighting resembled what you'd see by looking out of your window. It was a phenomenal game, truly ahead of its time. No wonder it's still a huge hit today on later consoles.
