12 Gaming Predictions For 2020 (Now E3 Isn't Happening)
12. Xbox Series X Is Fully Revealed At A Digital Event, Costs $599/£500 & Launches November 13
Though there's a lot of speculation about the possibility of next-gen consoles being delayed due to manufacturing issues pertaining to the spread of the coronavirus, we're going to bet that the Xbox Series X does in fact manage to release this year, albeit with a limited amount of stock.
Given that the design of the machine was clearly finalised many months ago, it's safe to say that development is likely further along than the PS5.
And while Microsoft was presumably planning to fully reveal the console along with a price and release date during E3, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has already assured fans that a "digital event" is in the works to replace it, with details to follow in the coming weeks.
Our prediction? Sometime in April, Microsoft announces an Xbox Series X blowout event for May, and at the event they'll confirm a relatively steep price of $599/£500, alongside a release date of November 13.
But to sweeten the high price - owing to the console's beefy system specs - Microsoft will throw in a year of Game Pass Ultimate, ensuring those who buy the Series X day one have hundreds of games to play without spending an extra penny.
