12 Gaming Predictions For The Rest Of 2017
1. Sony Finally Lets Players Change PSN Account Names
The Prediction: After years and years of fans asking, Sony finally relents and allows PSN players to change their account usernames.
Why It Will Happen: Because it's been vocally complained about for so long and is basically a major point of embarrassment for Sony, as Microsoft has offered a similar "service" to players for years.
The announcement would be met with a ridiculous amount of joy from fans, largely because Sony has taken so long to fix something so basic, rather than it being a desperately-needed feature.
Why It Might Not: Because you'll put up with it, and if Sony is to be believed, it's a Hell of a lot of work to actually get this feature functional due to the messy nature of PSN's back-end database.
Plus, back in 2015, Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida said, "We don’t [even] know if we can ever do it properly." Yeesh.
