12 Gaming Sequels That Aren't In Development (But Really Should Be)

12. Crash Bandicoot 8

Crash Bandicoot quickly became the PlayStation mascot after the release of the original game, a devilishly difficult platformer that spawned two enormously successful sequels (and a couple of fun spin-offs) before things began to go a bit pear-shaped. The fourth game, 2001's The Wrath of Cortex, was where the reviews and sales began to take a dip, as Crash struggled to compete on the new PlayStation 2 platform, and the three games that followed were met with a similarly lukewarm reception, making it clear that Crash's best days were behind him. But they don't have to be. Recently rumours began to spring up that Sony's Lead Architect on the PS4, Mark Cerny (who worked on the original Crash games), might be secretly developing a new Crash title, due to the appearance of Crash as an easter egg in a flashy PS4 commercial. Nothing has come of it as of yet, but given that we haven't had a fully-fledged Crash game in 6 years (and a half-decent one in about 10), this is one series that would really benefit from a next-gen revitalisation.
